Rocket Raccoon and Groot #6Another tale of Rocket Raccoon and Groot‘s adventures shows off the competitive nature of the two best-friends. Starting simply with a game of pool, things escalate quickly as Groot continues to beat out Rocket at everything from drinking games and darts to a galactic space race.

When the pair are contacted by old friend General Dock in the middle of their race, Rocket and Groot head for planet Olim Seven to pay off their debt and help the war against creatures known as Kiffs. Not wasting the opportunity, Rocket and Groot immediately make killing the creatures part of their competition which, because of their ferocity, ends a war that has last 1,000 years. (Who says competition is bad?)

Usagi Yojimbo #155

in Comics

Usagi Yojimbo #155Rain-soaked and road-weary, Usagi arrives at the Temple of the Golden Buddha (home to a most unusual piece of art depicting the nature of Hell). At first turned away by a over-zealous guard, Usagi refuses to leave which leads to a reunion with his old friend Inspector Ishida who has arrived to investigate a murder an decide the fate of the temple. With factions wanting both the temple to remain open or to be closed, and the victim killed in a manner Ishida can’t identify, the inspector asks for Usagi’s help on the case.

The first multi-issue arc in several months doesn’t disappoint at it establishes a mystery to solve which is only deepened by the legend of the Hell Screen and a second death following soon upon the heels of the first. It appears Usagi and Ishida have their hands full.

Pretty Little Liars - Bedlam

With Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) choosing to return Hanna (Ashley Benson) to her friends the Liars are left questioning whether Jessica DiLaurentis‘ twin-sister is friend or foe. Choosing to place her trust in Mary, Emily (Shay Mitchell) uses the family connection to see an increasingly disturbed Alison (Sasha Pieterse) whose husband has cut-off all non-family visitors at the mental institution where he continues to torture his wife. And here the worm begins to turn as Emily and the rest of the Liars finally begin to question the true motivations of Elliot (Huw Collins) who the episode seems to confirm as the main brain behind A.D. and not Mary Drake.
