  Turkey’s Away

Hope you folks had a great Thanksgiving, but if it wasn’t up to snuff at least you can take some comfort that you had a better time than Les Nesman and the gang from WKRP in Cincinnati.  Here, for your amusement, is one of my favorite Turkey Day-themed moments.  Just click to watch.  Larger version available in the Full Diagnosis, and if you want to view the entire episode simply hit the little refresh button inside the window to view it from the beginning.

Tube Watch - The Brave and the Bold

Last Friday Cartoon Network unveiled it’s latest animated adventure based on characters from DC Comics, The Brave and the Bold.  The show, based on the comic of the same name features Batman teaming up with various heroes from the DCU.  The pilot, “Rise of the Blue Beetle,” after a short intro where Bats and Green Arrow take down the Clock King, featured Batman working with the new Blue Beetle.  The look, tone, and style of the show is more in the ‘60’s Batman mode, and reaction has been mixed.  For more, including the series’ intro check out the Full Diagnosis.

  Quote of the Week

We haven’t done one of these for awhile, so here’s something from this past week which stood out.  In the conclusion of “New Rules” Bill Maher, ecstatic over Obama’s win, let loose this apt description of the United States…

“Yes, America is like Jessica Simpson.  Sometimes it’s so stupid it embarrasses you, but on the other hand, how about those titties!”

  Izzard, Eddie Izzard

Bond Week continues with this clip of comedian Eddie Izzard poking some fun at the Bond films, particularily the gadgets used in the series.  He makes a good point about Q giving Bond exactly what he needs for each movie, no more, no less.  Fun stuff.  Larger version available in the Full Diagnosis.
