Keeping you up to date on what’s hitting your idiot box, we continue with another week of season, and series, premieres. If you missed it you can check out Week 1 here. This week includes people dumber than a fifth-grader, the return of football, Entourage, and (for some unknown reason) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And don’t forget new shows like True Blood and Fringe.
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? - If you still aren’t sure the show returns Friday nights at 8:00/7:00 on FOX.
Football Nights in America - After a special Thursday night showing tonight to kick-off the latest NFL season (NY Giants vs. Washington Redskins) the pre-show and games move to their regular spot Sunday night at 7:00/6:00 on NBC. Check out the official site.
True Blood - The new HBO series features Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress in a small Louisiana town where humans and vampires live together thanks to the creation of a synthetic blood known as TruBlood. The show is based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries of Charlaine Harris. The show also stars Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Michael Raymond-James, Jim Parrack, and Stephen Moyer. The blood sucking takes place every Sunday night at 9:00/8:00 on HBO. Check out the official site.
Entourage - The Emmy Award winning series starring Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven, returns for a fifth season Sunday nights at 10:00/9:00 on HBO. Check out the official site.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - How this increasingly lame re-interpretation of the Terminator franchise for the small screen (only slightly better than Sci-Fi’s Flash Gordon) made it back for a second season is beyond me. Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, and Summer Glau return Monday nights at 8:00/7:00 on FOX. Check out the official site.
Fringe - From creator JJ Abrams (Lost, Felicity) comes this new tale of an scientist (John Noble) working with an unbelieving government agent (Anna Torv) to solve unexplained phenomena. Sound a little too familiar? Joshua Jackson, Jasika Nicole, Kirk Acevedo, and Mark Valley also star. The truth might possibly be out there Tuesday nights at 9:00/8:00 on FOX. Check out the official site.
Privileged - Based on the Zoey Dean novel How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls, the show stars Joanna Garcia as a Yale graduate unable to find a journalism job in Manhattan who turns to tutoring rich spoiled children. Ashley Newbrough, Lucy Kate Hale, and Michael Cassidy also star. The show airs Tuesday nights at 9:00/8:00 on CW. Check out the official site.
Til Death - The multi-generational marriage sitcom with Brad Garrett, Joely Fisher, Eddie Kay Thomas, and Kat Foster returns for a third season on Wednesday nights at 9:00/8:00 on FOX. Check out the official site.
Do Not Disturb - The new workplace comedy takes place in a once grand New York city hotel through the eyes of the employees. Jerry O’Connell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Niecy Nash, Molly Stanton, Jolene Purdy, and Brando Eaton star. You can find it Wednesday nights at 9:30/8:30 on FOX. Check out the official site.
