Eureka - Before I Forget

For Throwback Thursday we take another look back to the First Season of Eureka. “Before I Forget” is an interesting episode as it highlights how one man ruined two lives without either victim realizing it. After the arrival of Henry‘s (Joe Morton) old friends Jason Anderson (Andrew Airlie) and his wife Kim (Tamlyn Tomita) odd events start happening where several characters are unable to account for small blocks of time. This situation comes to a head when Carter (Colin Ferguson) awakes in Cafe Diem after apparently shooting Henry but with no memory of the event or any reliable witness testimony. Realizing Jason must be responsible, Carter and Henry hope to expose him, but the pair are beat out by Kim who discovers her husband has been using his device on her for years, stealing her work, and keeping her from her true love – Henry, and decides to plan a little revenge.

Set immediately following the events of the show’s “Pilot,” the second episode of the series opens with the funeral for Walter (Rob LaBelle) and Susan Perkins (Jennifer Clement) which seems common enough, at least until a very alive Susan walks into the police station later that same night. And, just to make things even more bizarre, an odd apparition begins appearing around town. Who says there’s no such thing as ghosts? By the end a reasonable explanation (or what passes for reasonable in Eureka) for both occurences will be given allowing a young boy (Zak Ludwig) to be reunited with his parents.

Eureka - Pilot

The audience is introduced to the sleepy northwestern town of Eureka through the eyes of U.S. Marshall Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) who stumbles on the town while dragging his willful teenage daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson) back home to her mother. Stranded until his car can be fixed, Carter can’t help but notice the odd occurrences in the town or become curious about the bizarre happenings. The Syfy Channel would offer five years of such odd happenings with events beginning here in Eureka‘s “Pilot” episode.
