Pretty Little Liars - Farewell, My Lovely TV review

The penultimate episode of Pretty Little Liars answers some questions while still leaving plenty to wrap-up in the series finale. With the police breathing down their necks, the Liars will come together in time to let someone else take the fall for one murder and discover the person behind the other. Apparently the game is over. Charlotte‘s (Vanessa Ray) murderer is revealed, and despite their adversary’s multiple attempts to get the girls arrested for the death of Dunhill, Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) steps up to take responsibility for the whole sordid mess. The episode even picks up a loose thread of unfinished business between Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) and sufficiently wraps it up. So… what now?

Pretty Little Liars - Driving Miss Crazy / Choose or Lose TV review

As Pretty Little Liars moves ever closer to its series finale, the show finally presents us with a lead suspect as A.D., but given its years of red herrings, could this really be the identity of the Liars nemesis? Or, with only two episodes remaining, does the show have time for one last twist? There’s quite a bit going on here as Aria‘s (Lucy Hale) friends discover her working for A.D., Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) decide to tie the knot, an old face returns to helm Archer Dunhill‘s murder, and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) finds some much needed comfort from an old friend.

Pretty Little Liars - The Glove That Rocks the Cradle television review

While Aria (Lucy Hale) gets her first real assignment from A.D., the rest of the Liars rally around Spencer (Troian Bellisario) who has become Marco‘s (Nicholas Gonzalez) number-one suspect in the murder of Archer Dunhill. Despite the Liars‘ attempts to obscure facts or Spencer’s heartfelt plea to Marco, it doesn’t seem that he’s going to give up this investigation any time soon. With Aria destroying the new baby room, while also dealing with the stress of the publisher’s idea for a Nicole-centric approach of Ezra‘s (Ian Harding) and her book, and Spencer getting grilled by her recent lover, it’s hard to say which has the rougher go of things.

“People don’t like the truth. The truth is slippery, can’t depend on it.”

Pretty Little Liars - In the Eye Abides the Heart TV review

Tensions rise for all the Liars in “In the Eye Abides the Heart.” While Aria (Lucy Hale) goes to work for A.D. and fears Ezra (Ian Harding) being pulled back into his old life with Nicole (Rebecca Breeds), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) continues to try to find Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) as she also becomes the primary suspect in Archer Dunhill‘s murder. As evidence starts to mount it becomes clear Spencer may need more help than Marco (Nicholas Gonzalez) is willing to give to keep his lover and her friends out of prison.

Pretty Little Liars - These Boots Were Made for Stalking TV review

It seems pretty late in the game to introduce a new adversary, but that’s what nearly half of “These Boots Were Made for Stalking” is devoted to when a bitchy student named Addison (Ava Allan) turns the teachers against each other and accuses Emily (Shay Mitchell) of inappropriate conduct with the girls swim team. Events are enough to force Emily to play the game, but the entire sordid affair is dealt with in a single episode as it hardly stands up to one of A’s more sinister attacks.
