Leverage

After tearing her ACL, Parker (Beth Riesgraf) is stuck in the office with the rest of the team in Japan on their latest job. Going stir crazy, Parker bonds with one of the waitresses (Aarti Mann) who looks in on here as a favor to Hardison (Aldis Hodge) and stares at the pub’s security feed where she begins to notice a suspicious pair of regulars who she believes are thieves casing the jewelry store across the street for a future job.

Parker (Beth Riesgraf) is approached by FBI Agent McSweeton (Gerald Downey) who needs help solving his father’s (Ronny Cox) most famous unsolved case before the man dies. Parker, in the guise of Agent Haggan, introduces Nate (Timothy Hutton) as a FBI consultant and profiler to McSweeton, his father and his father’s old partner (Fred Ward) in hopes that Nate can come up with a theory as to what really happened to D.B. Cooper (Matt Nolan).

The Leverage team sets their sites on a the CEO (Danielle Bisutti) of PEP, a corrupt corporation in control of a cheerleading empire whose cost-cutting measures, substandard safety regulations, and negligence is putting the young women in danger. Parker (Beth Riesgraf) goes undercover as the new coach of a team whose former coach, and the team’s new client, was scapegoated when one of her cheerleaders is hospitalized with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the rest of the team heads to Washington D.C. to take on Congress.

Leverage - The Complete 4th SeasonThe Fourth Season of Leverage saw one of the crew being buried alive, murder, complicated cons, and the return of several characters including Sterling (Mark Sheppard), Jimmy Ford (Tom Skerritt), Hurley (Drew Powell), Tara (Jeri Ryan), and in the season finale Parker’s mentor (Richard Chamberlain), Wil WheatonKari MatchettClayne Crawford, and Saul Rubinek as the man who put the team together - Victor Dubenich.

Highlights from a very strong season include breaking into United States Patent Office, Hardison (Aldis Hodge) taking the lead in a complicated con involving buried treasure in tunnels underneath Portland, a gang of female grifters led by Emma Caulfield hunting wealthy men, a trip to Dubai to help out Sterling (who, of course, double-crosses them), the takedown of a renown con man (David Rees Snell), the crew getting used to Nate (Timothy Hutton) and Sophie (Gina Bellman) as a couple, the cast playing other characters in a flashback episode to the 1940′s, and Parker and Hardison finally sorta admitting their feelings to each other.

To get justice for a scientist (Oren Rehany) whose partner (Neil Hopkins) stole his research and ruined his reputation, the Leverage team sets out to retrieve the files that will show Metz not Kanack is responsible for the revolutionary aircraft engine. However, when Parker (Beth Riesgraf) and Hardison’s (Aldis Hodge) attempt to retrieve the files comes up empty Nate (Timothy Hutton) comes up with a back-up plan – to make the man believe he has made first contact with aliens.

To take down a shipping CEO (Cary Elwes) responsible for a plane crash the Leverage team comes back together after their separate vacations to run an elaborate con involving Howard Hughes‘ vintage aircraft, the Spruce Goose. The team also has mixed feelings about moving into their new Portland headquarters, in the back of a microbrewery, following the events of last season’s finale that left their former home base burned and staked out by several members of law enforcement.

In order to get the men who murdered his father (Tom Skerritt) Nate (Timothy Hutton) is going to need some help. Dubinech (Saul Rubinek) knows the team and their methods, after all he’s the one who originally put them together. Now freed from jail his one responsibility is to keep Nate and his team away from Latimer (Leon Rippy). Not surprisingly, this turns out to be easier said than done.
