Pretty Little Liars - Driving Miss Crazy / Choose or Lose TV review

As Pretty Little Liars moves ever closer to its series finale, the show finally presents us with a lead suspect as A.D., but given its years of red herrings, could this really be the identity of the Liars nemesis? Or, with only two episodes remaining, does the show have time for one last twist? There’s quite a bit going on here as Aria‘s (Lucy Hale) friends discover her working for A.D., Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) decide to tie the knot, an old face returns to helm Archer Dunhill‘s murder, and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) finds some much needed comfort from an old friend.

Pretty Little Liars - The Glove That Rocks the Cradle television review

While Aria (Lucy Hale) gets her first real assignment from A.D., the rest of the Liars rally around Spencer (Troian Bellisario) who has become Marco‘s (Nicholas Gonzalez) number-one suspect in the murder of Archer Dunhill. Despite the Liars‘ attempts to obscure facts or Spencer’s heartfelt plea to Marco, it doesn’t seem that he’s going to give up this investigation any time soon. With Aria destroying the new baby room, while also dealing with the stress of the publisher’s idea for a Nicole-centric approach of Ezra‘s (Ian Harding) and her book, and Spencer getting grilled by her recent lover, it’s hard to say which has the rougher go of things.

Tensions rise for all the Liars in “In the Eye Abides the Heart.” While Aria (Lucy Hale) goes to work for A.D. and fears Ezra (Ian Harding) being pulled back into his old life with Nicole (Rebecca Breeds), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) continues to try to find Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) as she also becomes the primary suspect in Archer Dunhill‘s murder. As evidence starts to mount it becomes clear Spencer may need more help than Marco (Nicholas Gonzalez) is willing to give to keep his lover and her friends out of prison.

Pretty Little Liars - Power Play television review

While one of the Liars is tempted two of the others are tormented by A.D. Finally deciding to abort her pregnancy, Alison (Sasha Pieterse) then discovers that the child inside her isn’t her egg but one that was stolen from Emily (Shay Mitchell) on her return to Rosewood. Likely to shatter the new comfort found with Paige (Lindsey Shaw), Emily is rocked by the news unsure as to what it means for her future. As for Aria (Lucy Hale), she’s offered the opportunity to avoid the game altogether by joining the other side. Although Aria tells Sydney (Chloe Bridges, in a painfully bad performance) where to stick her boss’ offer, given the recent drama with Ezra (Ian Harding) and Nicole (Rebecca Breeds) and watching her friends be put through the wringer, she’s slower to dismiss A.D. the second time around.

Pretty Little Liars - Hold Your Piece television review

While Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) stalk Sydney (Chloe Bridges) in hopes of finding Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok) and learning her connection to A.D., and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) spends some time with Marco (Nicholas Gonzalez), Hanna (Ashley Benson) becomes their adversary’s latest target when A.D. begins to chip away at her recent success. The gruesome gift left for his girlfriend brings Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) into the fold, although his actions to get answers by breaking into the game board prove to have consequences both for himself and for the Liars.
