Arrow - Bratva television review

The search for the escaped General Walker (Garry Chalk) and his stolen nuclear weapon take Oliver (Stephen Amell) and company to Russia where he’ll be forced to make some hard choices to prevent Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) from both going down a dangerous road. Getting the information they need from Anatoly (David Nykl) means opening a door to his past and letting the Bratva back into his life which will likely have lasting consequences for everyone connected to Star City’s Mayor.

While the flashbacks involve an early version of the Hood hunting down targets in Russia with the help of Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig), it’s Oliver’s current choices which help his new girlfriend continue to connect the dots between Oliver and the Bratva. Susan Williams (Carly Pope) may not have all the facts yet, but she knows more than enough to keep digging and Oliver having his hand forced by the Bratva yet again isn’t likely to help hide that history. And his weak cover story of visiting Star City’s sister city in Russia doesn’t do much to conceal a more pressing need for Oliver to return to Russia.
