Eureka - Many Happy Returns

Set immediately following the events of the show’s “Pilot,” the second episode of the series opens with the funeral for Walter (Rob LaBelle) and Susan Perkins (Jennifer Clement) which seems common enough, at least until a very alive Susan walks into the police station later that same night. And, just to make things even more bizarre, an odd apparition begins appearing around town. Who says there’s no such thing as ghosts? By the end a reasonable explanation (or what passes for reasonable in Eureka) for both occurences will be given allowing a young boy (Zak Ludwig) to be reunited with his parents.

Along with the bizarre event of the week, “Many Happy Returns” makes some changes to the set-up of the show’s pilot episode. The first of these is to replace Greg Germann as the head of Global Dynamics with Ed Quinn playing Alison‘s (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) old boyfriend Nathan Stark. The second episode will also begin fleshing out the character of Fargo (Neil Grayston) who will provide Sheriff Carter (Colin Ferguson) with his new home in the state-of-the-art smart house (which, like Fargo, tuns out to be half-genius and half-infuriating). The final addition is the return of Zoe (Jordan Hinson), last seen headed back to live with her mother but now the newest resident of Eureka. Each of these small tweaks will provide the show with storylines for years to come.
