Franklin & Bash - Gone in a Flash

In the show’s Third Season finale Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) defend Pindar (Kumail Nanjiani) who is sued by Rob Lowe for invasion of privacy after Pindar’s drone crash lands on the actor’s deck. Although the pair get the charges dismissed, Pindar lands in even hotter water when evidence from his computer (used to prove he wasn’t spying on Rob Lowe) is used to reopen the insurance investigation into Jared and Peter’s old home which the insurance agent (Jay Chandrasekhar) now believes may have been caused by Pindar’s magic trick.

In the episode’s B-story, Rachel (Heather Locklear) literally screws Damien (Reed Diamond) at the office and later figuratively does the exact same thing by harpooning his chance at a judgeship to try and claim it for herself. Despite her actions, both lawyers are disappointed when the judgeship goes to another candidate. While working get out of their insurance nightmare, Peter also spends his final days with Charlie (Nicky Whelan) who leaves with her daughter without ever saying goodbye.

With the investigation into the fire this season’s finale wraps back around to last season’s finale episode. We also finally get a truce between Rob Lowe and Infeld (Malcolm McDowell), as well as the true story behind the lawyer’s samurai sword. Although he’s cameo is fun, it certainly doesn’t live-up to the season-long hype. I’m sorry to see Whelan leave, but the show certainly hasn’t struggled with finding attractive guest-stars. Given his short fling with Rachel and the loss of yet another judgeship, we also see the return of crazy fun-loving Damien (who decides to air the pair’s dirty laundry during the firm’s reception for the departing summer interns).
