The the series finale Mary (Mary McCormack) must balance protecting a witness, a former fashion model (Anna Osceola) who witnessed a murder and stumbled upon a gobal identity-theft ring, organizing her father’s (Stephen Lang) funeral arrangements, and dealing with the return of her mother (Lesley Ann Warren) and pregnant sister (Nichole Hiltz) who are determined to throw a wake, whether Mary wants one or not.

Abigail (Rachel Boston), frustrated with Marshal (Frederick Weller) repeatedly putting Mary’s needs in front of hers, decides to put their wedding on hold until her potential husband can work through his feelings and decide what he really wants. This leads to a heart-to-heart between Marshal and Mary on the office balcony about the state of their friendship and Marshal’s need for enough space to marry the woman he loves.

Things only get more complicated by Mary discovering her father’s suitcase of cash in her basement and Stan’s (Paul Ben-Victor) promotion to Deputy Director of WITSEC which means the Albequerque office will continue to stay open, under it’s new chief – Marshall Mann.

Aside from Marshal and Mary’s frank discussion, “All’s Well That Ends” also gives us a nice scene between Mary and her sister about Brandi’s future plans, and a goodbye dinner with the entire cast, including Mary’s new boyfriend (Josh Hopkins), to say goodbye to Stan and the audience after four-and-a-half years. We don’t get the big tearful goodbye, or any drastic change (Marshal doesn’t even make it to the aisle before the credits roll), but we know that Mary’s life will go on and she’ll continue to protect those she loves with the help of family and friends.

  1. I didn’t like this show when it first came on but my girlfriend does and so I stayed with it and it grew on me. I’m going to miss Mary and Marshall and I’m so glad they didn’t try to force them into a romantic relationship that did not make sense.

  2. Marshall Kicks It

I’m picking up season 4 on DVD today. Not sure why they are still a full season behind on release. Want to pick up the final season too now that the show is over but I guess I will have to wait a few more months.
