Longmire - High Noon

“High Noon” brings several storylines to a head as the unrelated events of an unknown assailant shooting at Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez), which the Native American quickly blames on the local sheriff, and Cady (Cassidy Freeman) accepting a job at a local law firm will begin the dominoes tumbling down in a series of events that will not only allow Walt (Robert Taylor) to solve Branch‘s (Bailey Chase) murder but also face off against the man who order the murder of Longmire’s wife. The result will be a bloody death of yet another important series regular leaving Walt with as many new problems as answers.

Cady’s far-too-short legal career is heartbreaking in its own way, as is Vic‘s (Katee Sackhoff) certainty that Walt is responsible for the shooting, but both are completely overshadowed by the major reveals surrounding Barlow Connally (Gerald McRaney) and the character’s gruesome death which may leave Walt with some closure to the most tragic event of his life but also leaves the sheriff looking extremely guilty for the man’s murder (which appears to be anything but a suicide). McRaney certainly milks his final scene as the series says farewell to yet another intriguing character.
