Star Wars Rebels - Legends of the Lasat

Larger storylines are put on hold for a Zeb (Steve Blum) episode that helps explain a little more about the Lasat and his people. Other being the show’s muscle, and having a prickly personality, Star Wars Rebels hasn’t taken much effort to delve all that deep into the character’s makeup until now. Based on a tip from Hondo (Jim Cummings), the crew of the Ghost is able to rescue a pair of Lesat. Despite dismissing the pair’s quest as foolhardy, eventually Zeb comes around to help Chava and Gron find the Lasats’ new homeworld of Liresan foretold in legend.

“Legends of the Lasat” not only gives us more information about Zeb’s past and his people but also offers the return of the unreliable Hondo who continues to cut deals, betraying whoever he needs to protect his own best interest throughout the episode. Just how Zeb pilots the Ghost using a lighting staff isn’t all that well explained (nor how he doesn’t fry every system aboard the ship). That said, the edge of the Outer Rim near an imploded star is one of the more visually impressive locations the show has presented so far. It’s odd that we aren’t actually given a look at the Lsats’ new homeworld, but the dialogue to close out the episode suggests this isn’t the Ghost’s final journey to that part of the galaxy.

  1. … this isn’t the Ghost’s final journey to that part of the galaxy.

Indeed! I do think that, instead of going deeper into the Galaxy (Inner Rim and Core Worlds), the Ghost will instead explore things more further out into Wild Space. After all, thanks to the Expanded Star Map that Chava & Zeb provided (and duly recorded by Chopper, of course), they knew of a HUGE number of uncharted systems.

And get involved in their own adventures against dangers that the rest of the GFFA were not aware of.
