Supergirl - Make It Reign television review

Setting up next week’s season finale, “Make It Reign” features Selena (Anjali Jay) and her disciples on Earth working to restore their world killer. Despite the illusion of being destroyed, Reign (Odette Annable) still exists and is tied to Sam. As the Kryptonian witches (which, despite being immensely powerful, are as ridiculous as they sound) resurrect their creation, Sam’s health worsens. And with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Mon-El (Chris Wood) stuck Argo, things are looking pretty bleak for Earth, especially after the Kryptonians raid the DEO to get their hands on the final ingredient needed to bring back Reign.

The episode’s B-story focuses on M’yrnn (Carl Lumbly) passing on his experiences to his son as the show prepares to say farewell to the character (who might get to go out in a blaze of glory in next week’s finale). There are some nice emotional moments here (such as the DEO losing one of their own, Sam with her daughter, and Alura meeting her daughter’s sister), although the episode does feel a bit rushed, and it’s obvious the heavier action is being saved for next week’s episode. mother (Erica Durance) return to Earth along with Kara and Mon-El is an interesting twist that gives the good guys one more super good guy in the battle to save the world, and also raises some questions about what happens to Alura and the rest of Argo after Reign is defeated?
