Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Fourfold Trap

Divide and conquer is the theme of “The Fourfold Trap” as a fully-brainwashed Karai (Kelly Hu) leads the Shredder‘s (Kevin Michael Richardson) forces to separate and capture each of the Turtles. Placing them each in a specially-designed trap, Karai awaits the inevitable arrival of Splinter (Hoon Lee). The traps are a bit goofy, as well as deadly, furthering the episode’s (and show’s) theme of the Turtles being stronger when they work together which eventually leads to their escape.

With the Turtles captured for most of the episode it’s Splinter who delivers the majority of the action. “The Fourfold Trap” reminds us just how proficient a martial arts master the rat truly is as he manages to take down Bebop (J.B. Smoove), Rocksteady (Fred Tatascoire), Rahzar (Clancy Brown), Fishface (Christian Lanz), and eventually Karai. Although his reunion with his daughter isn’t what he had hoped, Splinter does successfully remove the mindworm from Karai’s brain meaning the next time we see the character it could be in very different circumstances.
