Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) bridal shower leads to some unexpected revelations as Penny (Kaley Cuoco) confides to Amy (Mayim Bialik) and the future bride that she’s considering breaking up with Leonard (Johnny Galecki) due to the lack of passion in their relationship. In short order Amy spills the beans to Sheldon (Jim Parsons) who struggles with keeping the secret from his roommate and trying to convince Penny to keep dating his friend for both Leonard’s benefit and his own.

Sheldon also has trouble with Raj’s (Kunal Nayyar) attempt to introduce Stuart (Kevin Sussman) into the group as the new Wolowitz during game night and the group’s trip to the movies. Meanwhile in space, Howard (Simon Helberg), in a storyline with nowhere to go, has troubles of his own when he finds himself mercilessly picked on by the other astronauts.

I’m a little saddened that it looks like the show seems ready to break up Penny and Leonard yet again. I have to agree with Sheldon that I would prefer the two characters to pick a course and stay with it rather than the on-again, off-again relationship that never goes further than Penny eventually getting cold feet. Although I’m fine with the show splitting the pair up (if it is indeed for good this time), I think all aspects of The Big Bang Theory work better, and give the show many more opportunities for humor, when the pair are a couple.
