Legion - Chapter 12 television review

“Chapter 12” is the first episode of Legion‘s Second Season that isn’t framed in narration from an unseen Jon Hamm toying with larger themes and how they relate to David (Dan Stevens) and the Shadow King (Navid Negahban). Instead, nearly the entire episode takes place inside the mind of Syd (Rachel Keller) as David tries to navigate the loop of her life and fails repeatedly to find the right answer. With the focus on Syd, both we and David learn far more about the complicated mind of the woman who has won our protagonist’s heart.

Sheena #8

Sheena #8 comic reviewA poor man’s (or in this case, woman’s) Tarzan, Sheena has been swinging around the jungles since she was first introduced way back in 1937. The current comic has set Sheena against a global corporation intent on mining the jungle’s secrets for its own profits. In the latest issue, Sheena awakes to find herself drugged and caged in the Cadwell Industries Auxiliary Research Laboratory by a scientist who plans to use the company’s vast resources to discover what makes the jungle warrior tick believing it be worth billions in the pharmaceutical industry.

Sheena’s physical prowess isn’t the only thing Cadwell and his pet scientist are interested in, however. They also use the captured Lirio and Chano as leverage against Sheena to open the temple brought back from the jungle which has killed all soldiers who attempted to enter. The problem is neither the obnoxious scientist nor her even more smug boss consider that opening the temple may actually be the a really bad idea.

The Flash - Fury Rogue television review

The return of Earth-X’s Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller), and the introduction of another villainous version of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), are welcome editions to an otherwise melancholy episode as members of Team Flash struggle do deal with their recent losses. For Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Harry (Tom Cavanagh) that means facing the parts of themselves that apparently have been lost, and for Barry (Grant Gustin) that means stuffing his pain over the loss of Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) deep down rather than grieve for his missing friend. At least sad Barry is more bearable than a-hole Barry.
