Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Twelve #1 comic reviewThe end begins. Joss Whedon returns to write the final season arc of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Christos Gage that kicks off with Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Twelve #1. There’s fun, there’s fightin’, and there are feels.

The gang has grown a little older and (maybe) a little wiser in the year since we saw them last. Xander and Dawn are living together in the suburbs with a baby girl whose name with give longtime Buffy fans all the feels. Spike and Buffy have split but are still on good terms, Willow is leading a women’s power movement which includes Wiccans and Slayers, Giles has been restored to his proper age, and all seems relatively quiet… except for the legendary final battle just around the corner and a vampire from the future that plans on making sure he comes out on top.

First Look – The Predator

Just because they haven’t made a good one since the original (more than 30 years ago), that doesn’t seem to be be a good enough reason to stop making new sequels. Well, at least this one’s got Shane Black and Chuck‘s Yvonne Strahovski. Olivia Munn, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, and Sterling K. Brown also star. The Predator opens in theaters on September 14th.

Elementary - Nobody Lives Forever television review

With Holmes‘ (Jonny Lee Miller) mental issues seemingly behind him and his new adversary still laying low. “Nobody Lives Forever” offers the opportunity for the return of Sherlock’s former sponsor Alfredo (Ato Essandoh) who hopes to enlist him in a criminal endeavor. In an episode where the B-story proves more interesting than the crime of the week, Alfredo teaches the detective an important lesson about forgiveness (oddly enough while attempting to coerce Holmes into helping rob a business owner of money he stiffed the security expert on) as Holmes not only helps Alfredo’s older brother, whom he loathes, but also makes an attempt to mend fences with his own. This leads to both a humorous wisecrack about his brother and his partner as well as a touching final scene where the Holmes and Watson (Lucy Liu) bonding over the loss of a mutual loved one.
