KCFCC 58th Annual James Loutzenhiser Awards

On Saturday, January 27th, the Kansas City Film Critics Circle held their 58th annual James Loutzenhiser Awards. Oppenheimer was the big winner this year taking home 6 awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score. Other winners included The Holdovers snagging awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, and Anatomy of a Fall winning Best Foreign Film and splitting the vote with Past Lives in a tie for Best Original Screenplay.

KCFCC 57th Annual James Loutzenhiser Awards

The Kansas City Film Critics Circle met for the 57th time for our annual James Loutzenhiser Awards on Sunday, January 22nd. Everything Everywhere All at Once was the big winner of the night taking home Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay, the Tom Poe Award for Best LGBTQ Film, and the Vince Koehler Award for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror Film. Other winners included my favorite film RRR taking home two awards for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Score.

KCFCC 56th Annual James Loutzenhiser Awards

The Kansas City Film Critics Circle met for the 56th time for our annual James Loutzenhiser Awards on Sunday, January 16th. Winners awarded included Drive My Car, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Mass, Licorice Pizza, Summer of Soul, West Side Story, Flee, and The Power of the Dog which took home awards for film, director, and lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

55th Annual James Loutzenhiser Award Winners

This afternoon the Kansas City Critics Circle, the second oldest professional film critic organization in the United States which I have been honored to be a member of for several years, gathered to vote for the best in film for 2020. Nomadland and Promising Young Woman shared the top honor (with both films also taking home other awards as well).

Get Out Blu-ray review

Get Out was the big winner for the Kansas City Film Critics Circle’s 52nd Annual James Loutzenhiser Awards taking home the Vince Koehler Award for Best Sci-fi, Fantasy, or Horror Film along with Best Original Screenplay and the big prize of Best Picture. Call Me By Your Name also took home three awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and became the second winner of the Tom Poe Award for Best LGBTQ Film.
