in Film News & Trailers

Coming off the train wreck known as Ghost Rider, Nicholas Cage stars as a man who has the ability to see into the future and predict outcomes and who is being pursued by the FBI who need his abilities to stop a terrorist.  Julianne Moore and Jessica Beil also star.  The film is loosely based on the Philip K. Dick short story “The Golden Man” and we all know Hollywood has had mixed results turning Dick’s work into passable films (though last year’s A Scanner Darkly was a mind-blowing success).  With the curse of Jessica Beil (she who continually stars in attrociously to moderately bad films), director Lee Tamahori’s last film was xXx: State of the Union, and the fact that the film’s poster reminds me strongly of Paycheck, I’m more than a little afraid.  If you prefer, here’s a HD trailerNext opens on Friday and you can come back and read the review to find out if my fears were justified.
