The Freemaker Adventures - Return of the Return of the Jedi TV review

Set during the Battle of Endor, the season finale of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures offers the final confrontation between Rowan (Nicolas Cantu) and M-OC (James Urbaniak) deep in the bowels of the second Death Star as the Rebels race to destroy the Emperor‘s super-weapon. Along the way the Freemakers will also get thrown into the detention block, Zander (Eugene Byrd) will get his moment with Becky Smoochenbacher, and the Freemakers will celebrate the Rebellion’s victory – Ewok style. “Return of the Return of the Jedi” isn’t really a stand-out, but it proves to be a satisfactory conclusion to the season’s arc.

When and over-zealous Zander (Eugene Byrd) bets on the wrong ship and familiar faces like Graballa, Wick Cooper, and others show up at the auction things get complicated – even more so when Graballa kidnaps Kordi (Vanessa Lengies) believing her to be a princess he can ransom to pay for his resort.

The Freemaker Adventures - Home One TV revoew

Season two of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures begins with the Freemakers finding a new home with the Rebellion. While the humans prove their value with repairs and ability to trade for parts, Roger (Matthew Wood) ends up getting into trouble (although one of his stunts does earn him a medal when he unintentionally helps the Rebel Fleet take down a Star Destroyer). Another of Roger’s screw-ups gets both the robot and Rowan (Nicolas Cantu) involved in a bombing run. Even Zander (Eugene Byrd) gets some short-lived glory by taking down an entire squadron of TIE Fighters… before blowing himself up.

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures - Season One Blu-ray reviewSet between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the animated LEGO Star Wars series follows the misadventures of a family of mechanics whose youngest member discovers a connection to the Force and accepts the responsibility of keeping the fragments of a powerful weapon out of the hands of the Emperor (Trevor Devall).

Most of the series focuses on the trouble young Rowan (Nicolas Cantu) gets his older siblings Zander (Eugene Byrd) and Kordi (Vanessa Lengies) into while helping a Jedi (who is secretly a Sith) find and collect the fragments of the Kyber Saber.

Collected on DVD and Blu-ray, extras include two short featurettes on the Freemakers and their salvage business. Highlights of the season include the Freemakers on Hoth, a trip to the Imperial Museum on Naboo, and getting dragged into a Wookiee rescue mission.
