Charlie's Angels - The Killing Kind television review

Today’s Throwback Thursday post takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police detectives turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. Opening with the murder of an investigative reporter (Nancy Stephens), the Angels are hired by the victim’s father who believes (correctly) his daughter was murdered by someone connected to the resort she was investigating. Jill (Farrah Fawcett) goes in as a tennis instructor and Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) as a fashion photographer offering an excuse to do some snooping. Meanwhile, Sabrina‘s (Kate Jackson) makes a visit to the girl’s father but gets duped by an impostor and nearly meets her end on the road.

It doesn’t take long for the Angels to identify the owner (Robert Loggia), who happens to be a crook living the good life after witness protection, is not only behind the murder but also an illegal enterprise involving the expansion of his resort to further his small criminal empire. is very clear about not wanting any photographs of him or the surroundings without his express permission. Aside from the car chase and crash, and the evil masseuse (Janis Jamison), the episode is notable for both Sabrina and Jill being fooled by others at the club as Sabrina mistakes one of the criminal thugs for the victim’s blind father and Jill is slow to catch on that a guest (Hugh Gillin) at the club is an investigator as well.
