Once Upon a Time - Nasty Habits

With father and son reunited, Neal (Michael Raymond-James) and Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) work together to rescue Henry (Jared Gilmore) from Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) while elsewhere on the island Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Regina (Lana Parrilla), and Hook‘s (Colin O’Donoghue) rescue plan runs into a snag when Tinker Bell (Rose McIver) refuses to help, and incur Pan’s wrath, until the group comes up with an escape plan out of Neverland.

Although Neal and Rumpelstiltskin’s rescue goes off without a hitch, Pan splinters the trust between father and son by revealing the prophecy that the Dark One will be destroyed by his grandson and plants a seed of doubt in Neal’s mind concerning his father’s motives for coming to Neverland. Given Neal’s return to Neverland, “Nasty Habits” also offers flashbacks to Neal’s being led away by Pan as a boy, Rumpelstiltskin’s search for his son, and Pan’s golden tongue which splintered the trust between father and son the first time.

The episode ends with all the chess pieces reset. Emma and her team still without a way home, Henry is back under Pan’s control (and still unaware of his family’s attempts to rescue him), Rumpelstiltskin is at odds with his own nature, and Neal is captured by the Lost Boys. However, there is one important difference as Henry can now hear Pan’s flute and is well on his way to becoming a true Lost Boy. As Tinker Bell suggested last episode, the longer Henry stays with Pan the less likely he will ever return home.
