Sleepy Hollow - The Lesser Key of Solomon

Following Jenny Mills‘ (Lyndie Greenwood) escape from the psychiatric hospital, Captain Irving (Orlando Jones) gives Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) 12 hours to find the young woman before he begins a state-wide manhunt. However, Abbie and Ichabod aren’t the only ones searching for Abbie’s sister as the hidden forces have tapped a Hussein (Carsten Norgaard) and two others to find Jenny and something they believe she possesses: The Lesser Key of Solomon capable of releasing 72 demons from Hell.

After tracking Jenny down, Abbie learns that her sister was a friend of Sheriff Corbin (Clancy Brown) and worked with him to seek for answers about the coming evil and help obtain rare objects like the own Crane recognizes from his time during the Revolutionary War when he tried to use the Boston Tea Party to acquire it all more than two centuries ago. Together the three are able to save the day, learn the name of the demon of the demon that has haunted both Mills’ sisters since that fateful day in the forest, and begin the slow process of bringing the two sisters together.

I’ll admit to rolling my eyes when the writers attempted to paint the Boston Tea Party as nothing more than a distraction to grab some unholy relic from the British. Given what they’ve seen so far, and the ritual they witness to close out this episode, it would impossible for Abbie to no longer believe which leads to an apology and an attempt to begin the healing process with her sister (who I hope sticks around to kick some more ass and challenge Abbie and Ichabod’s preconceptions about their new undertaking.
