An accidental house explosion leaving the charred, and scattered, remains of a terrorist lead Five-0 to believe other members of his cell are on the island and preparing another bomb. McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) calls on Catherine (Michelle Borth) to use her connections to find out as much as possible about their dead terrorist as Kono (Grace Park) and Cho (Daniel Dae Kim) investigate the bomb and crime scene leading them another terrorist, bomb making equipment, and several potential targets including the airport, a power plant, a retirement ceremony for a three-star general (John Colton), and schools across the island.

After accidentally arming a second bomb by shooting the third terrorist who had it strapped to his chest, Danny (Scott Caan) has to remain completely still while the bomb squad tries to disarm the device. To get his partner’s attention off of the life and death situation, McGarrett gets Danny to continue telling him about his most dangerous case as a cop in New Jersey involving a pair of drug dealers (Terrence HowardT.I.) and his former partner (Sydney Tamiia Poitier).

Despite the somewhat awkward structure of events unfolding, the episode provides tons of action and a couple of nice surprises including the introduction of Grace’s (Teilor Grubbs) namesake (who we sadly won’t see any more of), and the final twist to Danny’s story giving an entirely new spin on why that day 11 years ago was so memorable. The jokes of Danny’s dancing prowess as he tries to survive the day to get to his father/daughter dance with Grace are also a nice touch.
