Preacher - Possibilities

After discovering the power of his new gift, but not its meaning, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) will choose to confide in Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). That’s not the only surprise for Cassidy who will get a visit from the two men (Tom Brooke and Anatol Yusef)he killed last week, and again this week, looking not for the vampire but the entity inside of the preacher. Meanwhile Jesse will face temptation, first from Tulip (Ruth Negga) who nearly tempts her ex-boyfriend to sign-up to kill an old enemy, and also from Donnie Schenck (Derek Wilson) whose attempt to take some revenge on the preacher nearly gets the idiot killed.

With Jesse finally starting to uses his power, and fighting the temptation to use it for the wrong reason or purpose, “Possibilities” presents the best episode of the series so far. Making a connection of not only what he can do but perhaps why he can do it should put the preacher down an interesting path. As for our mysterious duo, the show allows the pair to explain (in general terms) who they are and what they are after. With the story unfolding in a different manner than the original comic, I’ll be interested to see what Cassidy does with his new knowledge and just what Jesse has decided to do with the power granted to him.
