Star Wars #13

Star Wars #13 comic reviewStar Wars #13 acts as a lead-in to Marvel’s upcoming arc which will crossover through their various titles including Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra. Set after the events of The Empire Strikes Back, “Prelude to War of the Bounty Hunters: The Hunt for Han” give us Luke, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, and the Wookie Sagwa searching for Boba Fett still in possession of Han Solo frozen in Carbonite.

It’s always interesting to see how artists choose to clothe Luke outside of established continuity, here in his end of Star Wars clothes sans jacket. The search takes them to Nar Shaddaa where someone under the name of Jango Fett has been making a reputation in the local arena.

There’s nothing in the prelude that you’ll miss by skipping the issue, just the characters getting into (and then out of) trouble. Just by asking some questions, the group quickly earns the wrong kind of attention (especially after Luke reveals himself to be a Jedi) and soon find themselves running from an entire moon of bounty hunters and killers.
