Murder Mystery Monday takes us back to the most famous mystery writer of Cabot Cove. After the sudden death of her friend under suspicious circumstances, and unwilling to accept the explanation from local authorities, Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) travels incognito to a Jamaican resort as a wealthy recluse in order to get to the truth. Although she drops the facade long before the end of the episode, JB Fletcher as a snooty rich bitch does make the episode memorable.
“Widow, Weep for Me,” gives us Howard Hesseman as hotel security and Raymond St. Jacques as the local cop on the scene. The episode also marks the first appearance of Len Cariou as British Special Agent Michael Hagarty who would become one of the show’s regularly recurring characters over the first nine seasons.
