We’ll kick of Sherlock Saturday with a What If… Several shows over the years have created spin-offs with varying degrees of success, but what of the shows we could have gotten, one could argue should have gotten, but didn’t? For example, I offer you the idea of Natalie Dormer starring in a show centered around criminal mastermind Jamie Moriarty. One of the most interesting versions of the character we’ve ever seen, combining both Irene Adler and Professor James Moriarty into a single nemesis to rival, and emotionally torture, Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller), she was the woman.

Flashback Friday takes us to 80s Las Angeles, a large and in charge district attorney, and his special investigator with a taste of the finer things in life. After starting out with an unrelated win for McCabe (William Conrad)  in court, and the introduction of Jake’s (Joe Penny) old partner (Alan Campbell) and fiancée (Brynn Thayer) at a party he throws in their honor, we witness Laura kill him in an alley attempting to pin the crime on a local gang kid stealing some electronics equipment.

June Squibb is delightful in writer/director Josh Margolin‘s tale of senior citizen struggling to retain her independence after the death of her husband. Taken advantage of by a phone scam, and hearing the whispers of her children debating her health, Thelma decides to take matters into her own hands and recover her stolen money. Fred Hechinger plays Thelma’s loving but distracted grandson Daniel who is closer to his grandmother than either of his easily and often hysterical parents (Parker Posey and Clark Gregg) and whose own fears about his inadequacy will play into the story as well.

Wonder Woman #10

Wonder Woman #10 concludes the storyline of the Sovereign attempting to break down Wonder Woman  without wrapping up the entire arc. Having been unable to beat Diana with hired guns, the United States Army, or weeks of torture, the Sovereign looks to let Wonder Woman’s greatest enemy do their job for them as they drop Wonder Woman off on an island in the middle of nowhere where the only other inhabitant is Cheetah. The result is another great story of Wonder Woman kicking some butt while also showing some heart with the frenemy who knows her as well as anyone else on the planet.
