Daredevil #9

Daredevil #9 works as an aftermath issues set between the Fist’s battle against the Hand and their upcoming fight against the Avengers (who believe Elektra is responsible for murdering the President). After their battle against the Hand, Matt Murdock and his followers limp back home to their secret base to lick their wounds. It’s hardly a calm time as there are those who decide to abandon Daredevil’s quest, and sad revelations for both Elektra and Matt that two of their inner circle aren’t who they believe them to be, just as a new threat lands on their doorstep.

Detective Comics #551

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another classic adventure involving the Dark Knight Detective. Continuing a storyline begun in Batman #384, Detective Comics #551 is the middle chapter of a story in which Calendar Man has been hired to kill Batman. Making it appear that the villain has plans to kill Robin, pushing Batman to protect the Boy Wonder (a choice that really pisses off Jason Todd who is already in prime bratty little shit form), Calendar Man continues to commit a series of robberies centered around holidays since the beginning of the year.

Joe Fixit #3

Joe Fixit #3 continues to explore the time when the Hulk became a Las Vegas enforcer in a pinstripe suit. Picking up events following last month’s cliffhanger, Fixit (dosed with mind-control drugs from the Kingpin) runs wild in the casino only to stop suddenly (far more suddenly than one might have guessed) at one point be it from Spider-Man pleading with him or the inner monologue between the current Hulk persona and Dr. Bruce Banner. Either way, the rampage stops but things don’t necessarily turn out better for Banner.
