A straightforward adaptation of the first episode of The Mandalorian, The Mandalorian #1 is exactly what you would expect introducing us to bounty hunter Din Djarin and his acceptance of the job which will change his life forever. Fans of the character may enjoy themselves, and there is enjoyment in seeing the character come to life on the comic page, but nothing new is added here, or given more depth or insight, which might pur you to seek it out.

Once and Future #27

While the appearance of the sword in the stone moves all the various Arthurs to action, DuncanBridgette, and Rose do what they can to keep the would-be kings from claiming a throne until Christmas, Once and Future #27 also turns its sights back on the deformed Galahad and his quest for the Grail. The character has been on the periphery of the comic for quite awhile, but hasn’t been a major player. Here the disheartened warrior gets the encouragement he needs to finish his quest which is achieved but the story doesn’t exactly end in the manner his mother had hoped.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #294

“High Stakes” continues at the not-so-undercover Joes struggle to stay alive on Cobra Island. More than half the issue is set aside for Helix and Dawn‘s fights against the evil Revanche B.A.T.S. disguised as waitresses before doing a bit of snooping underneath the casino and finding many, many more.

Transformers: Fate of Cybertron

The one-shot Transformers: Fate of Cybertron wraps up the IDW ongoing Transformers storyline (which only kept my interest off and on since it began back in 2019) with the Autobots leaving Cybertron to the Decepticions as agreed, but not before Megatron takes a few last swings at Optimus Prime and attempts to capture and keep all the Autobots as his prisoners to witness the glory of Cybertron under his rule.
