Transformers #10

Transformers #10

I’m not going to object to more Shockwave in any Transformers comic, and that’s certainly what we get here. We get Shockwave torturing the captured Autobots as well as the reveal of his plan to milk the planet dry and supply a Decepticon-controlled Cybertron with endless energy. With so many different characters, both human and robot, the art of Transformers has been pretty good, if a little inconsistent at times, but hell yeah does Shockwave come off great here enhanced even more by the fear of the Autobots.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1

A new run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles begins here. In what launches as the first part of a year-long arc, after some time apart, the Turtles are scattered around the world. Our first issue is set around only Raphael who has spent the last several weeks (months?) in prison. Partly punishing himself, and also doing a little work under the radar for the warden, Raphael keeps his head down for the most part (other than preventing a group of prisoners from escaping).

Huh, I thought this vampire shit was over? Apparently not. Set during the events of Blood Hunt, Vengeance of the Moon Knight #7 covers Tigra and Hunter’s Moon trip to Asgard to free Khonshu with the help of the Wrecker. Once restored, Khonshu returns to his seat of power and resurrects his greatest warrior Marc Spector to lead and army of Moon Knights back to Earth to fight the vampire horde.

The Powerpuff Girls #1

A new Powerpuff Girls comic begins here. When Ms. Keane introduces the class to the Highly Intelligent Machine, all the young students take tests to discover their true destinies. This leads to each of the girls to temporarily abandon super-heroics to try out new lives. Blossom becomes a noir-style private eye. Bubbles, in a bunny suit, spends time with animals. And Buttercup becomes a wrestler. While all three enjoy exploring a different destiny, each discovers that something is missing.

Zatanna: Bring Down the House #2

Zatanna: Bring Down the House #2

Picking up where the first issue left off, Zatanna: Bring Down the House #2 opens with the disaster of Zatanna‘s magic show interrupted by both a demon and an unannounced stranger attempting to fight it off. Having sworn off actual magic, Zatanna isn’t much use in the fight but after its over she does go with the stranger to The Palace of the Casters (a magic cult which, despite its odd surroundings, appears to be conveniently also located in Las Vegas) who offer blame but no answers to the current crisis.
