Space Ghost #1

Space Ghost #1

Bringing the characters from the short-run 60s cartoon into the present, Space Ghost #1 gives the first meeting between the vigilante space cop Space Ghost and the young siblings Jace and Jan whose home is attacked, and whose father is killed, by space pirates whose numbers include fan-favorite Brak (albeit without his nasally charm). Reimagined with a more serious tone than the original series, Space Ghost gets a bit of the early days Batman treatment jumping out of the shadows with the evil-doers surprised that he actually exists and not sure what to make of him.

Darth Maul: Black, White, and Red #1

Darth Maul: Black, White, and Red #1

A deviation from the setup these black and white comics have come to follow, Darth Maul: Black, White, and Red #1 is not an anthology series featuring a number of short stories from different creative teams but a single standalone story featuring everyone’s favorite character from The Phantom Menace. The look of the comic is also less stark than many of those that have come before, but still, as suggested, highlights the colors black, white, and especially red.
