Adapted from the novel of the same name, and with more than a passing resemblance to Alfred Hitchcock‘s The Lady Vanishes, Keira Knightly stars as investigative journalist Laura Blacklock who, after a rough assignment, takes a posh assignment covering a group of the uber-rich on a private yacht. The 25th Anniversary 4K SteelBook marks the first time director Kinji Fukasaku‘s 2000 action film has been released on 4K. The collection includes both the original and director’s cut of the film, new and previously-released special features, and SteelBook art by Oliver Barrett. While not the first film to offer a dystopian future in which combatants fight for the death, Battle Royale is highly regarded (despite, or possibly because of, the controversy surrounding its release that delayed it being shown in American cinemas for more than a decade).
