Castle, ABC’s mystery of the week featuring the odd pairing of a New York City cop with a crime novelist, returns next Monday for its Season Four premiere.

At the dawn of talking motion pictures a silent movie star (Jean Dujardin) faces uncertainty while falling for an up and coming dancer (Bérénice Bejo) on the verge of stardom. I’ve heard very little about this film from writer/director Michel Hazanavicius, but if it’s as good as the trailer (presented as a silent film) then I know I’m going to have to search it out. John Goodman, Malcolm McDowell, Penelope Ann Miller, Missi Pyle, Beth Grant, and Ed Lauter also star. The Artist begins its US release on November 23rd.
Famke Jensen‘s directorial debut follows a mother (Milla Jovovich) and son (Spencer List) cross country in an effort to escape her criminal past. Bill Pullman, Marcia Cross, and Rory Cochrane also star. Bringing Up Bobby premeired at the Deauville American Film Festival, but doesn’t yet have a US distributor or release date.
From director Bibo Bergeron (Shark Tale, The Road to El Dorado) comes this animated tale about a projectionist, an inventor, a monkey, a cabaret singer, and a giant singing cockroach. Redubbed from the original French film, Adam Goldberg, Catherine O’Hara, Danny Huston, Vanessa Paradis, and Bob Balaban provide the voices. A Monster in Paris opens in theaters on October 19th.
