We told you about this remake of the classic 1951 film back in January.  Well, now is your chance to check out the first trailer for the ill-conceived new The Day the Earth Stood Still starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, John Cleese and Jaden Smith.  Check out the official site.  The film is still scheduled to land in theaters everywhere on December 12th.

This Week in Foreign Film

From writer/director Claude Chabrol comes this tale of a beautiful local weather girl (Ludivine Sagnier) pursued by two men (Benoit Magimel, Francois Berleand).  Mathilda May, Caroline Sihol, Marie Bunel and Valeria Cavalli alo star.  Check out the official site.  The film, presented in French with English subtitles, opens exclusively in New York and Los Angeles on Friday.

2008 Olympics

It’s Summer Olympics time people!  That’s right the Games of the XXIX Olympiad are about to begin.  If you look below you will find a schedule for every day of the games breaking down which days you can find the sport you want to watch.  From archery to wrestling 10,500 athletes will compete in more than 300 events from 34 different sports.  On NBC’s official page you can also check out the TV listings and athlete profiles of this summer’s Olympians.  More than 1,400 hours of TV coverage kicks off Friday night when the opening ceremonies begin at 7:30/6:30 on NBC.
