This Week in Independent Film

Patrick Fugit (of Almost Famous fame) stars as Zia who finds himself in an afterlife holding area after his attempted suicide.  Shannyn Sossamon, Shea Whigham, Tom Waits, Leslie Bibb, Sarah Roemer, and Will Arnett also star.  Check out the official site.  The film opens in limited release in select cities on Friday.  Larger trailer, plus a teaser clip, available in the Full Diagnosis.

Music from Across the Universe

Okay, I already posted this once, but as the film is finally getting a wide release this Friday I thought I’d give you a second look (with even more music!).

This Week in Film

Cate Blanchett retuns as Queen Elizabeth in the sequel to the 1998’s Elizabeth.  The story centers around the Queen’s attempts to stop conspiracies aimed to kill her and put Mary Queen of Scots (Samantha Morton) on the throne, an attacking Spanish armada, and her relationship with explorer Sir Walter Scott (Clive Owen).  Abbie Cornish and Geoffrey Rush also star.  Check out the official site.  We’ve seen it and we’ll have the review for you when the film opens in theaters everywhere on Friday.  Larger trailer, plus the trailer of the original, available in the Full Diagnosis.
