The opening episode of The Rising introduces us to the recently deceased Neve Kelly (Clara Rugaard) who awakes in a lake only dimly aware of the previous night’s events. While her parents grow increasingly concerned over her absence, Neve continues to make her way home only to arrive and find she cannot interact with her mother (Emily Taaffe). Slowly realizing that she’s a ghost, Neve eventually uses the methods available she has to interact with the living world to lead the search party to her body. The show’s frantic emotional core and cinematic style make for a hell of an introduction, although I do wonder where things go from here.

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the unsolved crimes of passion in the wealthy playground of Palm Beach, Florida. Chris (Rob Estes) and Rita (Mitzi Kapture) investigate the murder of a high-priced call girl (Sharon Case). The case is complicated by the fact that another prostitute (Hannah Cutrona) witnessed the crime but is too scared to come forward and the last client the two women were with was Donovan’s (William Anton) mentor Judge Bill Cafferty (Joseph Sirola) who is currently running for reelection.

The four-part series finale of The Flash reminds us of the highs and lows of the series with returns of several familiar faces, touching on familiar themes, and unnecessarily bloating the story with excess B-storylines for the numerous characters. The original spinoff to Arrow, The Flash helped cement the foundations of the Arrowverse. At its best the Scarlet Speedster entertained while keeping its focus on the humanity of criminal scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) who used his speed to help save Central City from all kinds of threats, included some inadvertently caused by himself.

For the two-part season finale the show taps into a case from Tennant‘s (Vanessa Lachey) days in the CIA. Opening with Tennant being found at a murder scene, the leader of the team spends little time with them over the two-part episode as she heads halfway around the world for answers in search of a ghost she believed was killed years ago. The episode gets Whistler (Tori Anderson) into the field helping Tennant, although getting left behind at times, while leaving Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami) to worry at after both her boss and her girlfriend (who doesn’t exactly blend in to her surroundings).
