Following the events at Willow Hill, authorities look to capture the escaped residents while Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán) will realize that two of them are connected to their past. Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) awakes from a coma to find Enid (Emma Myers) in danger, Tyler (Hunter Doohan) on the loose (leading to a questionable plan to bring him to heel), and former-principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) acting as her new, and not very supportive, spirit guide. Pieces from the first half of the season begin to fall into place as Pugsley‘s (Isaac Ordonez) zombie becomes human enough to identify and a connection is revealed between the unknown woman Wednesday freed from Willow Hill and both Tyler and Wednesday’s mother.

The Sandman – The Song of Orpheus / Family Blood

Guilty over recent events, Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) makes up with his sister Delirium (Esmé Creed-Miles) and this time earnestly sets out to find their missing brother. While successful, leading to a meeting with Destruction (Barry Sloane), that’s not the family reunion that is the most memorable. For Dream, its the unexpected crossing of paths with his estranged son Orpheus (Ruairi O’Connor ) that allows for a look back at the dream lord’s past and the tragedy of his son. Orpheus’ backstory is most notable for his song to Hades (Garry Cooper) and Persephone (Antonia Desplat) and for the return of Jenna Coleman (albeit reprising the lesser interesting of the two Constantine women she’s played on the show – something which will be rectified in the next episode).

While still shell-shocked that her father is alive, Rebecca (Reina Hardesty) leaves with him but keeps the door to Juno (Piper Perabo) open, not yet ready to throw her life away. The most notable aspects of the two episodes involve David (Daniel Dae Kim) and Rebecca struggling, and failing, to establish trust, the pair working together to get around a police checkpoint and later working together to save David’s wife and the young daughter he hadn’t gotten around to telling Rebecca about just yet.

As expected, the introduction of Smoothie offered up the opportunity for the baby dinosaur to get lost and for an episode set aside to find him. Bringing the group back together, it also allows for them to find some common ground on their other lost friend (despite her own choices leading to her current predicament). Speaking of Brooklyn (Kiersten Kelly) she continues to find cracks in Soyona Santos (Dichen Lachman) and her partnerships which could be exploited in future episodes. And, after teasing it, we finally see the Pyroraptor which offers a showdown between in at the raptors.

The Residence – The Third Man

  • Title: The Residence – The Third Man

After seeing a number of suspects, and hearing testimony from a number of people who witnessed events in The White House that night, “The Third Man” offers some context on how the the investigation ended, where Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) has been all this time, and identifies the mysterious “Third Man” (Timothy Hornor) who appeared at the state dinner without anyone knowing who he was and witnessed someone moving a body. Although the focus shifts from the investigation to different locals in future (the hearing, Cupp in The Amazon searching for the elusive giant antpitta, and Park (Randall Park) acting as the middle man to get to the truth while riding a kiddie train) all the parts blend wonderfully together to create one of the series best episodes and set the stage for the truth to finally be revealed.
