The Endgame – Fairytale Wedding

The games, and stories, continue in the second episode of NBC’s The Endgame. For stories, we get the almost-wedding of Elena Federova (Morena Baccarin) and death of FBI Agent Val Fitzgerald’s (Ryan Michelle Bathe) mother. For games, Federova’s men kidnap the Secretary of Homeland Security’s son and use evidence from one of the banks to expose her corruption. The show continues the trend of Federova being three-steps ahead of everyone else including Fitzgerald who learns of another connection between the criminal mastermind and her incarcerated husband but still doesn’t know what it means.

Legacies – The Story of My Life

Legacies returns from its mid-season hiatus still focused on our dead trio attempting to get out of Limbo and Hope‘s (Danielle Rose Russell) missing humanity as she shows up in Professor Vardemus‘ (Alexis Denisof) classroom, in a fun reveal, to ask his opinion on the mystic crypt she’s been keeping Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) inside. Eventually Lizzie escapes, but the revelation that Hope is her sire creates a new relationship between the pair as Lizzie can no longer harm Hope and must follow her commands (which the show immediately begins having fun with). Both this storyline, and what unfolds back at the Salvatore School, open a new storyline for the series on the subjects of gods.

And now there are two. When Tom Kullersen (Jeremy Shada) sneaks away to spend time with his dragon, who earns the name Thunder in this episode, Jun (Ashley Liao) follows him discovering the hidden world below only to get trapped in a crystal chamber. To escape, she’ll need to make a connection with a two-headed dragon who will eventually accept her as its dragon rider. Mostly centered around Jun and her dragon, and Tom and Thunder fighting off some Gembreakers, other characters only make token appearances her including Alex (Aimee Garcia) who finds a way go get Tom outside the perimeter without setting off the alarms.

The Book of Grogu – From the Desert Comes a Stranger

  • Title: The Book of Boba Fett – Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger

For the second episode in a row, an episode of The Book of Boba Fett is largely hijacked for a story setting up a Second Season of The Mandalorian. This time, rather than follow Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) on a job we get the Mandalorian’s arrival at the Jedi Temple in search of Grogu and the young apprentice training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Where the last episode belonged to the Mandalorian, this one belongs to Grogu who must decide if he will stay and complete his training as a Jedi or return to his life with the Mandalorian. I have seen the argument made that this second appearance cheapens Luke’s appearance in The Mandalorian, and there is certainly a case to be made. However, the larger complaint is that it doesn’t really fit on The Book of Boba Fett.

Wolf Like Me – Episode 2

For the second episode in a row, Mary (Isla Fisher) crashes into Gary (Josh Gad). This time it’s with a coffee rather than a car. And, after sharing another moment together she runs again, leaving Gary to chase her and learn her unbelievable secret. Other than brining the pair together again, the episode also explores Gary’s past shame and his fears about his daughter (Ariel Donoghue) who has an attempted suicide early in the episode. Gad continues to give a strong performance here as a man at the end of his rope, who has found some comfort in a complete stranger carrying around no small amount of pain as well.
