After confronting Cecil (Walton Goggins) about the surveillance drone watching the family, which Cecil isn’t responsible for, Mark‘s (Steven Yeun) day only gets crazier when his date with Eve (Gillian Jacobs) is interrupted by the pair of time travelers that whisk him away to  the far future where an insane Immortal (Ross Marquand) is ruling over a dystopian future with an iron fist (what this has to do with the pair stealing the Declaration of Independence in an early episode is never made clear).

Things finally do go to shit for Reacher‘s (Alan Ritchson) undercover mission, although not as quickly as you might expect. The run-in with Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) doesn’t immediately blow his cover. With looming dread, “The Hollow of His Hand” focuses on the trial of Hector Ayala (Kamar de los Reyes) which takes a turn after Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) loses his star witness and chooses to out Hector’s role as a vigilante gaining support from the jury for Hector’s service. Although Matt gets a win, and Hector goes free, at no point in the episode did it feel like Hector was destined for a happy ending. Whether he had been shanked in prison, attacked outside the courthouse, or unceremoniously killed in the street (which is what ends up happening), this was always going to end poorly for Hector.

Will Trent – This Kid’s Gonna Be Alright

“This Kid’s Gonna Be Alight” is most notable for the show’s epilogue. In investigating a murder of a rapper, Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and Faith (Iantha Richardson) begin investigating the studio which is a front for Rafael Wexford (Antwayn Hopper) to launder money and happens to be the same studio where Faith’s son Jeremy (Deion Smith) is working. Attempting to prove himself to Rafael, and keep his job after the GBI insinuate themselves into his business once more, Jeremy makes the biggest mistake of his life which provides Will only a single option to save the young man’s future (and also, coincidentally, push forward Will’s investigation into Rafael and his current activities).
