Elementary - An Infinite Capacity for Taking Pains television review

After nearly a full year off the air, Elementary finally returns for the show’s Sixth Season. Along with introducing a new case involving a missing person that leads to two separate murders, the season premiere picks up on the thread introduced at the end of last season involving Sherlock‘s (Jonny Lee Miller) deteriorating mental state. With the detective coming clean to Joan (Lucy Liu), we learn that although is condition likely isn’t permanent it is effecting his ability to do his job which puts further strain on the detective in realizing that without his work there’s a very real chance of losing his sobriety (which would further complicate him getting better). Arrow - Shifting Allegiances television review

While the previous episode of Arrow was focused primarily on Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), “Shifting Allegiances” splits the focus across multiple stories. We get the crime boss attempting to force Mayor Lance (Paul Blackthorne) into doing him a favor, Diggle (David Ramsey) and A.R.G.U.S. attempting follow Quadrant leads back to Diaz, Rene (Rick Gonzalez) returning to the field and working with Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) to attack Diaz’s drug operation, and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) attempting to convince friend-turned-enemy Anitoly (David Nykl) to turn on Diaz. Anitoly refuses Oliver’s offer, but in delivering him to Diaz he gives the hero perhaps his chance to save the city in a one-on-one fight between the Arrow and the crime lord (who, unfortunately for Oliver, isn’t above cheating to win a fight).

The Blacklist - Ian Garvey: Conclusion television review

“Ian Garvey: Conclusion” likely wraps up the the Ian Garvey (Jonny Coyne) saga in a fun episode in which no character gets exactly what they want. Filled with betrayal and twists, and the amusing return of Raleigh Sinclair (John Noble), this one is a hell of a lot of fun. With the FBI unable to take Garvey down by legal means, and wanting to keep an important secret from Elizabeth (Megan Boone), Reddington (James Spader) chooses to use a bit of misdirection by framing Garvey for the murder of the corrupt cop’s drug-dealer meal-ticket. Neither Liz, nor the audience, learn the importance of the duffel bag full of bones, but due to Garvey’s shooting, Red gets no closer to regaining his property either.
