Legends of Tomorrow - Doomworld television review

Having gotten their hands on the Spear of Destiny and reshaped reality to their liking, the Legion of Doom are enjoying the spoils of their victory, some more than others. Recasting the various Legends in roles as subordinates in various demeaning positions, the villains have everything they could want, although internal bickering soon leads to turmoil among the group. The catalyst for change comes in the form of the team’s turncoat who realizes the return of his former partner and the resumption of the criminal enterprises isn’t the same the second time around.

Iron Fist - Under Leaf Pluck Lotus / Immortal Emerges from Cave TV review

The fifth and six episodes of Iron Fist finally get around to introducing the series’ villains. Returning from the Second Season of Daredevil are the still-ill-defined versions of the Hand. Yah? Along with them comes Rosario Dawson in her role as Claire, the only character who has appeared in all four series. A student of Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), Claire gets pulled back into the super-hero nonsense she hoped she had moved past when Danny (Finn Jones) and Colleen’s paths reconnect and she helps him investigate the Hand’s illegal drug smuggling being done in the ports Rand owns. The discovery of the drug’s creator (Olek Krupa) will force Danny into direct confrontation with the Hand to free the man’s daughter (Alessia Sushko), and it will force Claire and Colleen to make a hard decision given the man’s failing health.

Supergirl - Distant Son television review

When Mon-El‘s (Chris Wood) parents (Teri Hatcher, Kevin Sorbo) put an outrageous bounty out on Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) aliens begin attacking the Kryptonian, forcing Kara to reluctantly stand down. Hoping to convince them that Mon-El is better off on Earth, Kara meets with Rhea (Hatcher) and only survives a sneak attack by the queen thanks to Mon-El stepping in and agreeing to return to Daxam. The story’s main purpose is to show how much Mon-El has grown as a character, wiling to sacrifice himself and his own happiness for the woman he loves (who, despite orders not to engage the aliens, isn’t going to let Mon-El leave without a fight).

Elementary - Dead Man's Tale television review

The discovery of a body in a storage locker sends Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) down the rabbit hole on a dizzying case involving sunken pirate treasury, theft, murder, and fraud, with no scarcity of suspects. While the true motivation for the killing alludes them, eventually the pair will discover the truth about the pirate gold, and their murder victim.

Once Upon a Time - Page 23 television review

While Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) does some soul searching after Emma (Jennifer Morrison) discovers the pirate’s secret, the main focus of “Page 23” is the end of the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) storyline. Retrieving the Shears of Destiny, the Evil Queen uses them to separate herself permanently from Regina allowing the pair to duke it out one last time. While I’m not surprised that neither woman ends up dead, I always expected Regina to reabsorb the Queen back into herself. I’ll give the writers credit for finding a third option that allows each character to get their own happy ending and allows Regina to perform one of the most heroic acts seen on the show. Points for tying the whole thing back to the mysterious “extra” page in the storybook as well.
