“There are very few people you meet in life that do everything right. The way they think, attack problems, conduct themselves. How they keep things loose when a joke is needed or keep their powder dry when things get tight.”

While playing on recent events, the majority of “Dominique” focuses on an extended flashback which introduces the impressive Sergeant First Class Dominique Kohl (Mariah Robinson) who worked under Reacher before his Special Investigators phase. The pair’s first case involved a soldier (Johnathan Sousa) leaking military secrets under threat from a military intelligence officer targeting his family. That officer’s name was Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee).

Set after the standalone episode structured to take place during a hiatus which focuses on Willis (Jimmy O. Yang) filming various commercials for products he doesn’t really understand, the final two episodes of the series bring the focus back to what’s wrong with the world as Wills asking the same questions his brother did leads to the show painting him as its new bad guy. Meanwhile, having taken Willis’ old job in the restaurant,  Lana (Chloe Bennet) makes a discoveries of her own involving how the citizens of Chinatown are being recycled constantly back into the show (explaining presumed dead characters seen earlier in the season) along with a tie between the lives of Chinatown and the video game at the restaurant from which Jonathan (Chris Pang) has been sending messages to Willis this entire time.

Running Point – Pilot

  • Title: Running Point – Pilot
  • IMDb: link

In what feels like Netflix’s version of a sitcom (with broad comedy and a concerted effort to seem edgy by shoehorning in as much swearing as possible), the “Pilot” episode of Running Point introduces us to Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) as the least fucked up member of her family, a family that runs a professional basketball team. Thrown into the role of president after her eldest brother’s (Justin Theroux) cocaine bender becomes national news, Isla finally gets to put her basketball IQ to use much to the chagrin of her other brothers (Scott MacArthur and Drew Tarver) jealous they weren’t tapped for the position. The opening episode is mostly about introducing the characters, setting up a new path for Isla and the Waves, and also teasing one more surprise for the family which will be sprung in the season’s second episode.
