Wander Over Yonder - The Night Out

In another life Sylvia (April Winchell) and Dominator (Noël Wells) might have been great friends (well, if Dominator knew what friends really were). Bored while waiting for her army of destruction to update their software, Dominator sneaks out disguised looking for a little fun. To her surprise she finds it hanging out with Sylvia. With Wander (Jack McBrayer) off helping the little guy, the two women enjoy a night out together… at least until Dominator’s need to control and/or destroy everything comes between the pair.

Preacher - See

Continuing to jump around to show us a cowboy in 1881 and the work of Donnie Schenck‘s (Derek Wilson) for Quincannon Meat & Power, the second episode of Preacher gets into trouble every time it veers too far off the path of its main character. As for Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), he spends most of the show’s second episode still ignorant of his new-found gift, and struggling to deal with both halves of his nature and a disturbing confession of the town’s school bus driver. The preacher is also conviently passed-out when DeBlanc (Tom Brooke) and Fiore (Anatol Yusef) arrive. Mistakenly taking them for vampire hunters, Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) makes a bloody mess of things (literally).

Houdini & Doyle - The Curse of Korzha

“The Curse of Korzha” is the first episode of Houdini & Doyle I have watched. Jumping into the middle of a show’s First Season can be problematic as you are unaware of the character and world building already accomplished to this point in the series. Set in 1901 London, the series centers around a consulting detective partnership between author Arthur Conan Doyle (Stephen Mangan) and magician Harry Houdini (Michael Weston). In the vein of The X-Files, the pair investigate mysterious incidents where one (Houdini) seeks a rational explanation while the other (Doyle) is open to the possibility that the supernatural is real.

Person of Interest - The Day the World Went Away

Never was an episode of Person of Interest more aptly named than “The Day the World Went Away.” The series has never shied away from big moments, or shocking twists (it killed one of it’s three primary characters halfway through its run). As shocking as Carter‘s death was, however, this one cuts to the bone. The looming darkness which has hunted the various members of the team for most of two full seasons washes over them with such a force that not all will survive. Sparking the final battle between The Machine and Samaritan, the show’s 100th episode pulls out all the stops for a memorable, and heartbreaking, turn of events which will be he catalyst for the series’ remaining three episodes.
