Starting with Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike (Die Another Die), host Maryam d’Abo discusses what it means to be a Bond Girl and how the experience differed for the women who are part of this select sorority that began the moment Ursula Andress walked out of the water in Dr. No.

Including clips from past Bond films and interviews with several Bond girls the special is an interesting look at this select group of actresses.  There aren’t huge surprises or revelations, and truth be told, some of the girls haven’t aged well over the years, but there’s something intriguing about each of these women describing their experiences.

Picking up hours after the end of Casino Royale, Daniel Craig returns as James Bond on the search of the secret organization behind Vesper’s (Eva Green) death and taking on a businessman (Mathieu Amalric) trying to grab control of the world’s water supply.  Judi Dench and Jeffrey Wright return, and Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton become the latest Bond Girls.  Check out the official site.  James Bond returns to theaters on November 7th.  Larger trailer available in the Full Diagnosis.

A Better Batman

Christian Bale returns to the role of Bruce Wayne, and his pointy-eared alter-ego Batman.  The sequel takes place months after the end of Batman Begins.  Batman and Lt. Gordon (Gary Oldman) have been busy squeezing the Gotham mob, and with the help of the golden-haired District Attorney, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), they hope to make real changes in Gotham.

However, there’s a new player in town.  A psychotic mystery man named the Joker (Heath Ledger) who, after robbing them blind, offers his services to Gotham’s crime families to kill the Batman.

There’s so much to discuss.  And I haven’t even mentioned the love triangle between Bruce, Harvey and Rachel (Maggie Gyllenhaal, taking over the role Katie Holmes played in Batman Begins) or the in-fighting among the mob, or the cops on the take.  Whew!  The film is a bit long at 152 minutes, however it’s also chocked-full of plot; there’s barely a wasted moment.  This is the Batman movie fans have been clamouring for.  I’m betting good money that more than one fanboy will wet himself.
