Angel #2 comic reviewThere are several points of interest in the second issue of Angel, even if the full story remains hidden and a bit fractured and still out of focus.

Following the death of his friend, Angel is back in hero mode searching for answers. It’s a good thing too since Angel #2 introduces one of my favorite characters from the Buffyverse as Winifred Burkle isn’t found in Pylea but a psychiatric ward in Sunnydale. The much earlier introduction of Fred is an intriguing change which will be interesting to see play out.

Other storylines in the comic continue the flashback of Angel siring the new vampire Marius and quite a few pages are devoted to the unseen enemy attacking young victims through social media and text messaging by offering an understanding his victims aren’t finding elsewhere. No doubt this is the looming threat Angel will need to solve, but personally I’m looking forward to seeing the handsome man save Fred from the monsters. Worth a look.
