The plot of the first issue of Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three revolves around the attempts to kill Muscle in prison, one of which Batman stops when Killer Croc gets into his cell. The source of these hits come from the hitman’s former employer Esther Valestra. And she’s not the only one who wants him dead.
The GCPD offers Muscle a deal to help take down Valestra, but despite the hopes of the prison chaplain. While accepting the offer, which raises Batman’s suspicions, Muscle uses the opportunity to attempt a jail break. There’s an effective twist in his apparent death, assisted by the chaplain, before the hitman finds him double-crossed as well. And, of course, Batman has a few things to say before all is said and done.
