Continuing the “Dark Droids” crossover event, on Mustafar an infected Zed sends an Octuptarra tri-droid after Darth Vader in an attempt to finally put the Dark Lord of the Sith down. It’s another issue of a struggling Vader facing off against dangerous droids (although I could never quite buy the Octuptarra as a Sith-killer). The attack forces Vader to stop relying on the crutches which helped him reconnect with the Force and reclaim his power once more.
The arc of Vader finding the Force again has been of more interest to me than the never-ending supply of droids for him to kill. Connecting fully with the Dark Side of the Force means Vader must tap into his hate and focus on who he hates most in all the universe. After reliving the most painful moments of his life in flashbacks, there is only one choice. With Vader restored, and the latest batch of droids swiftly dealt with, the crossover continues.
