Set after the time of King Arthur, in the ashes of the land following the fall of Camelot, Immortal Red Sonja continues with Sonja wandering the landscape in search of Merlyn while having to deal with narration and dialogue from her cursed chain mail. After losing her sword in besting a centaur in combat, Sonja comes to a lake and gets a new sword from the Lady of the Lake (but doesn’t pay enough attention to the fine print in their agreement which she quickly struggles to live up to).
Issue #2 focuses on Sonja struggling to find footing in the new land with its rules, curses, and manner of dangers (and, of course, the constant annoyance from her armor). She also faces off against the Green Knight. Although victorious, her victory over him today portends a day of trouble somewhere down the road for the She-Devil with Excalibur.
